Design Engineer

Ship real products with AI in this design engineer course. From Figma mockups to live apps, no CS degree needed.

The course has five modules, all execution, no fluff.
Module one, The Shift, covers why designers who build win, frontend, backend, and APIs in plain English, and compares AI models like Opus, Sonnet, Codex, and Gemini, including what you pay for tokens.
Module two, the AI Toolkit, shows how teams at Perplexity, Intercom, Shopify, and Notion use AI today, and how MCP, CLI, and skills.md fit into a daily workflow.

Module three is where you build. You set up Cursor, Node.js, Expo Go, and the iOS simulator, then turn a Figma frame into a running React Native app through the Figma Dev Mode MCP. You add auth and cloud storage with Supabase, ship an APK with EAS, and push your code to GitHub.
Module four repeats the loop on macOS, building a native SwiftUI wellbeing app with Lottie icons and custom sounds, packaged as a DMG without an Apple Developer account.
Module five covers staying relevant: contributing to your organization's codebase and getting hired as a design engineer. The course includes two 1:1 calls with the instructors and a member job board with hand-filtered design engineer listings.

What you will learn:
Ship a real mobile app, Bunkd, end to end, with a public APK and a GitHub repo.
Build a native macOS app with Lottie animations, custom sounds, and personalization, packaged as a DMG.
Pick the right AI tool and model for each job, with MCP, CLI, and skills.md in your workflow.
Talk like an engineer: Git, APIs, deploys, and pull requests.
Know what you need to get hired as a design engineer and ship into your team's repo.

Ideal for: product designers, UX designers, and design leads who want to stop handing off specs and start shipping working products.
